We were fortunate to find such a great property to make the home of Rocket Dog. We have two neighboring houses, so we fenced around the perimeter of the two – giving us a good sized yard. One of the houses are used solely for Rocket Dog, which we affectionately refer to as the Dog House. The Dog House has built in daybeds around the perimeter of the living room, and radiant heat under the rubber floors. Holly, Boone, and their family live in the house next door – making it the human house. Soon these humans will be moving to accommodate their growing family, and we will transform the human house into a grooming station and general store – making Rocket Dog Care your one-stop-shop for all your dog’s needs.
The backyard is a good size, giving ample room for the dogs to run around and play. In the front yard, there’s also good space to play, so the dogs rotate between the yards depending on the dog’s individual play style and friends. We also have a couple areas dedicated for working with a dog one on one if their behavior deviates from the plane of appropriate.
All our fences are 6′ – 8′ tall, to provide a secure environment for even the most athletic jumpers. All of our outdoor areas are covered with concrete pavers or artificial turf, so even though the dogs spend an overwhelming majority of their time outside – they don’t come into contact with any dirt.
The inside of the dog house consists of a living room, bedroom, and kitchen – all for the dogs! Our bedroom has a few crates so that our non-stop puppies can take quick breaks throughout the day to prevent any injuries or over-play! The bedroom is full of beds for our senior dogs to lounge around, our rain-scared pups to cuddle, and our boarding dogs to sleep during their slumber parties! All boarding dogs are joined by a Rocket Dog staff member who sleeps in the same room as them to supervise, cuddle, and give belly rubs. And our kitchen is the heart of the house: where meals are dished out, where dogs go through on their way outside, and where indoor play happens.
